I always suggest you get travel insurance. You never know what can happen and the money you spend on vacation is almost never “just a little.” You protect your life, your car, and your home… you even protect your phone and devices. Protect your vacation investment. Yes, your investment. Here are 3 big reasons why you should!
1. You Cannot Predict The Future
Airline cancellation and delay is an unfortunate, but

Luggage damaged or lost is another unfortunate but common thing we see. I will always suggest that you pack as light as you can. Bring an under-seat bag or carry-on, depending on the length of the flight. But things happen to checked-luggage. It’s the nature of the “travel beast.” Your luggage is part of your life-line when traveling, especially far away. So cover yourself and your belongings.
2. Don’t gamble your money
Airline, hotel, transportation/rental cars, and excursions can cost a pretty penny. You’re easily spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on your trip before you even go anywhere. Anything can happen before you leave to take that flight. Cover your investment. You’ve invested all that money into an experience, make sure it isn’t for nothing. Get insurance to cover your investment before go anywhere. If a hurricane, tornado, accident, or illness comes, you can be ok knowing that all your money isn’t gone. You can recoup your investment and start replanning in peace.

3. Medical
If you have kids, a pre-existing condition, or you are doing international travel, you don’t want to get sick or have an accident. You definitely don’t want to have to pay a lot money out-of-pocket. Of course, this depends on where you’re going. But you want to make sure that you have medical coverage where you’re planning to go.
- Are you traveling with kids? Please have them covered, whether you’re going out-of-state or international.
- Do you have pre-existing conditions? Double check your insurance coverage. And check how that part of the world deals (or doesn’t deal) with your condition, so you can be prepared.
Those are the main 2 concerns, make sure you will be ok if you get sick or have an accident where you’re going. Some places have better healthcare than others. It’s never a bad idea to look at it and know what you’re getting yourself into.

Try to make sure you have some preventative methods ready for international travel. Example: If you travel to Bali, have a couple of things ready, in case you get Bali Belly, etc.
Travel medical coverage should not scare you. This article was a short, simple one to help you prepare. If you need help or have questions about medical coverage while traveling, I would be more than willing to help. Just let me know!
